‘Why aren’t we there? – Shining a light on gender equity’ – ‘Talent is equally distributed, opportunity is not’
Absolutely yes and why? Because in so many ways – many up front and explicit, others more hidden and invisible, there’s still work, significant and important work, for all of us to do to make sure gender equity is a daily reality for girls and women throughout their lives, wherever they are. When women and girls are equal, we all gain and we’re all greater.
This publication is aimed at leaders and managers across the public, private and third sectors, because for too many women in too many organisations and across too many partnerships, gender equity has slipped down or off the equalities ‘to do’ list.
Women are pretty much everywhere, so it’s too easy to turn the intersectional kaleidoscope and shine a light on another protected characteristic because gender equity seems to be ‘done.’ While it’s essential to keep all aspects of equality, diversity, inclusion and equity on the agenda we’re certainly not yet sorted on gender equity.
