Dawar is a Director of Executive Search at recruitment firm Penna and works across Government and the Public Sector. He has over 24 years’ experience in recruitment having studied Law at university and completing both his LLB and post graduate diploma in legal practice.
He has been involved in several high profile recruitment campaigns including Directors of Children’s Services and Adult Social Care.
Dawar chairs the judging panel for the annual Chief Executive of the Year award. He is a co judge on the Senior Leadership Team of the Year award for the MJ and also on the panel of judges for the Diversity and Inclusion award for the LGC.
He founded and chairs the Diversity in Local Government Leadership Network, which is the only national network of its kind bringing together leadership capacity across the sector. He is also a mentor on the NGDP BAME 2022 mentoring programme for graduate trainees in local government.
