Registration for the 2016/17 series of Leadership Academy seminars is now open.
The Leadership Academy Programme is predominantly aimed at 2nd and 3rd tier officers (or their equivalents in other agencies) from children’s services and aims to provide professional development opportunities, which are either themed to specific areas of policy and practice or focused on specific ‘wicked issues’ currently facing those in senior leadership positions in services for children, young people and families.
Leadership Academies are not conventional seminars, but rather aim to provide the opportunity for participants to work with peers, reflecting upon challenges facing the sector, exchanging practice and sharing ideas with each other.
Leadership Academies are characterised by all participants coming prepared to contribute as well as listen, and through this collaborative practice, enhance and extend the collective intelligence of the children’s services community. Each facilitated seminar lasts for 1 day and includes both formal and interactive contributions from practitioners, policy leads, contributors to other national leadership programmes and inputs from participants themselves. Through this blended learning approach, the College hopes to provide a balance between best professional practice and new learning challenges.
