As part of the final phase of the DCS Leadership Provision, the DfE asked the Virtual Staff College to co-ordinate a short literature review to: “look at how CSE is defined in selected countries, to what extent there is consistency in the response of public agencies around the world, and what the UK can learn from experiences elsewhere?”
OPM has been commissioned to undertake this research, working closely with the VSC to produce the final report which we are pleased to share with you. The assigned researcher was keen to try to include information regarding UK CSE cases where there is a clear international element involved and requested that we invite Directors of Children’s Services and Chairs of Local Safeguarding Boards to forward any examples of cases from their localities which included an international dimension (for example, trafficking across borders).
